Appellation: San Luis Obispo County
Grape Varietals: Lagrein, Merlot, Syrah
Bouquet: Aromas of buttery cherry pastry, leather, and vanilla nougat comprise the satiny medium-to-full body followed by a long, creamy mocha, spiced berry, and mineral finish.
Flavor: A superb sipper or table wine. Lagrein, the blue-black grape, native of the Alto Adige region of northern Italy, is the dominant grape. The resulting wine is dense, concentrated, and yet very balanced and elegant.
Food Pairings: Beef, Deer, Lamb.
Vineyard: Designated, limited production, Estate wine. One-acre vineyard comprised of two Lagrein clones. Piedra Creek Winery is the first winery in the Central Coast, and one of the only few producers of the Lagrein grape in North America.
