Reviews:

2010 Brunello di Montalcino – 94 Points – James Suckling (Jan 2015)
"Incredible aromatics here with smoked meat, toffee, light prune, dried cherry and dried flower. Full body, soft, velvety tannins and a long, sexy finish. Wonderful depth and intensity. Big wine from a little producer. Try in 2017."

2010 Brunello di Montalcino – 92 Points – Robert Parker Wine Advocate (Feb 2015)
"The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino shows smooth lines and a curvaceous figure. Soft aromas of cherry, Spanish cedar, licorice, dried rosemary and roasted almond rise from the bouquet. I tried this wine during two phases, once shortly after the bottle was opened and a second time 24 hours later. The evolution and softening of the wine was remarkable and is very encouraging in terms of its potential longetivity. Yet, you never lose sight of that characteristic Sangiovese tartness and freshness. Drink this elegant Brunello after 2017." ~ M.L.

2010 Brunello di Montalcino – 89+ Points – Vinous Media (Feb 2015)
"A big, powerful wine, Villa Le Prata's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino certainly does not lack intensity. Dried red cherries, iron, smoke, tobacco, game and cedar add a measure of complexity, but the 2010 remains a bit clenched and austere through the mid-palate and finish. If the 2010 fleshes out a bit it may merit a higher score in the future." ~ A.G.

2009 Brunello di Montalcino – 91 Points – James Suckling (Feb 2014)
"A full, rich Brunello with dried strawberry, plum and lemond-rind character. Velvety and juicy. Drink now."

2009 Brunello di Montalcino – 88 Points – Vinous Media (Jul 2014)
"Bright ruby-red. Black cherry, licorice, leather and a loamy nuance on the nose. Densely structured and tannic, with flavors of dark red fruits, leather, tobacco leaf and herbs, this serious Brunello begs for food. With its rather strict personality but good breadth and restrained sweetness, this wine will drink well relatively early but it will likely benefit from another two or three years in the cellar. Though the finish is only moderately long and a tad hot, this strikes me as one of the better entry-level Brunellos made by this estate in some time.” ~ A.G.

2009 Brunello di Montalcino – 89 Points – Robert Parker Wine Advocate (May 2014)
"Villa le Prata's 2009 Brunello di MOntalcino is forward, juicy and nicely balanced. Sweet red cherries, mint, crushed flowers and tobacco meld together nicely in the glass. The supple finish is resonant and inviting. There is a lot to like here, including the wine's immediacy.” ~A.G.

2008 Brunello di Montalcino – 90 Points – Wine Spectator (Nov 2013)
"Broad and rangy, with cherry, licorice, leather and spice aromas and flavors. Shows grip and lively acidity, picking up balsamic accents as the long finish unfolds. A powerful style. Best from 2016 through 2029." ~ B.S.

2008 Brunello di Montalcino – 88 Points – Robert Parker Wine Advocate (Sept 2013)
"The 2008 Brunello di Montalcino has a good sense of immediacy and energy. Dark red cherries, raspberries, spices and mint are some of the notes that flow through to the finish. Firm tannins become more apparent on the mid-palate and finish. The 2008 could use another year to soften. Today it comes across as a bit rustic, but with potential." ~A.G.

2004 Brunello di Montalcino – 91 Points – Robert Parker Wine Advocate (#183 June 2009)
"The 2004 Brunello di Montalcino is an attractive, mid-weight offering laced with perfumed red cherries, spices, tobacco and underbrush. The aromas and flavors come together quite nicely in this understated, elegant Brunello. The wine gains pretty inner sweetness with time in the glass, while fine, silky tannins caress the palate on the finish." ~A.G.
