Cascina Val del Prete, Nebbiolo d’Alba “Vigna di Lino”
The Vigna di Lino vineyard takes the name from Mario Roagna’s father. It is a tribute to the vision and hard work that Mario’s father, helped by his mother Carolina, shared for so many years. As sharecroppers they invested their limited resources and enormous passion in these vineyards. While most of the local farmers left their homes and land to find employment in the factories of Turin, Lino and Carolina stayed behind because the love for their vineyards was stronger than a secure and better paying factory job.

REVIEWS from The Wine Advocate:
Cascina Val del Prete Nebbiolo d’Alba Vigna di Lino 2005 – 88 Points
“The 2005 Nebbiolo d’Alba Vigna di Lino is another soft, supple wine from Val del Prete. This tasty, accessible Nebbiolo is loaded with varietal fruit and plenty of style. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2011.
This is a very strong set of new releases from Cascina Val del Prete, one of the leading estates in Roero. Working out of his tiny estate in Priocca, proprietor Mario Roagna fashions wines that are remarkable for the sheer pleasure and drinkability they provide..”
