REVIEWS from The Wine Advocate:
Poderi San Lazzaro Podere 72 2006  – 90 Points
Once again I was struck by the Rosso Piceno Superiore Podere 72, which is one of the finest values in Marche wines today. The 2006 is a deep, flavorful red that flows from the glass with generous dark fruit on a seamless frame, showing outstanding depth and richness. Sweet notes of menthol and licorice linger on the long finish. The Podere 72 is equal parts Sangiovese and Montepulciano. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2014.

This young, emerging estate is one of my favorite properties in the Marche. At their best, these gorgeous wines show remarkable balance and polish. Proprietors Paolo Capriotti and Pino Ottavi follow last year’s wines with another set of beautiful releases.
