Tenute Rubino, Salento Rosso “Marmorelle”
The vineyards are located 10 km north-west from Brindisi. These younger vineyards, Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera, Montepulciano, Chardonnay and Malvasia bianca grow along an area of 85 acres. The deep loam does not have the large presence of rocks seen in most of the surrounding areas and it is conducive to early ripening of the grapes. The climate is cool and ventilated, influenced by the promixity of the sea. These features give the wine an intense aroma along with a fresh and soft balance .

Vineyard: This 85 acres vineyard is located 6 miles north west of Bridisi. is at sea level in close proximity to the Adriatic sea. It was planted in the mid 1980’ss.
Planting System: Spurred cordon
Soil: Predominantly calcareous with significant presence of sand.
Harvest: Late September.
Yield: 3.8 tons per acre
Alcohol: 13.50%
Vinification: It ferments in stainless steel tanks for about 14 days with frequent punch downs. Primary and malolactic fermentations take place.
Aging: A total of 3 months in large oak barrels and 6 months in the bottle.
Total Production: 240.000 bottles
Tasting Notes: Dark red color. Fresh aromas of violet and plum on the nose with nuances of cinnamon and clove. A rich in the mouth with soft and persistent tannins.
