VINITY WINE COMPANY

Cascina Ca’ Rossa , Roero “Mompissano

The northern Italian wine producing region of Piemonte is world famous for its vigorous and robust red wines.  Cascina Ca Rossa, located in Canale is considered one of the best producers of Roero. Its owner, Angelo Ferrio, is one of the area’s premier producers.  The Roero DOC produces wines that can rival its famous neighbors, Barolo and Barbaresco.  From steep hillside vineyards, which he hand-cultivates, Angelo produces wines with extraordinary depth and flavor.

The first Roero 'Mompissano' was born in 1999, and it comes from one of the most beautiful vineyard on the slopes of the Mompissano hill from which takes its name. This hill sits above the Roero's main town of Canale and the Ca' Rossa winery. The vineyard is the highest one on the hill, directly under the "Torre in terra" (the "Earth Tower", a tower-like bluff that overlooks Canale and serves as a local landmark).
