Ravello Bianco Amalfi Rosato Furore Rosso

MARISA CUOMO

In a village that barely exists, Marisa Cuomo and Andrea Ferraioli tend their 3.5 hectares of steep slopes along the Amalfi coast producing wines with a sense of place.

Producing three whites and three reds from regional varietals, Marisa Cuomo's wines have been improved considerably with the application of new technologies. Visit them at Cantine Gran Furor Divina Costiera di Marisa Cuomo.

Furore, a natural fjord (such gorges in Italy are called “orridi” or horrids) clings to the mountain between the sea, the Indian figs and the terraces of fragrant lemons. Peregrine falcons still nest here.

Nature enthusiasts might consider Furore as a good base for Amalfi Coast hikes, whether they may be interested in a pleasant stroll or a more serious trek along the famous "Sentiero degli Dei". A leaflet, available at Furore, contains information on two of the village's nature trails and is published in English.

Furore is also protected by Unesco as a World Heritage Site.
